- 1). Call the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA) or the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA). Both organizations have approximately 2,000 member companies and individuals, according to each association's website. Call the FMA at 888-394-4362 or the NTMA at 800-248-7104 and ask for a membership directory. Alternatively, visit the FMA website (see Resource) and search the online member database. You can contact NTMA for information about accessing their online membership directory.
- 2). Contact a metal bending and forming equipment supplier. Equipment suppliers provide their customers with the tools required to bend and form metals. Contact a supplier and request a referral.
- 3). Call a large manufacturer. Manufacturers in any industry require the creation and maintenance of large metal equipment. Contact a manufacturer in your area and ask for someone in administration. Ask the representative to route you to someone who can provide you with a recommendation based on personal experience.
