Crafts About Abraham

    Abraham Cotton Ball Craft

    • Print several copies of a black-and-white outline or template of Abraham. Provide each child with his own copy. Supply the children with assorted crayons to color the Abraham templates and have them cut the templates out. Have them paste the template on a piece of construction paper. To complete the craft, have the children glue cotton balls to Abraham's beard to make it fluffy. Tell the children to write "I'm the Father of Many Nations" below their Abraham picture for them to remember why he is an important person in the Bible.

    Abraham's Baby Craft

    • God promised Abraham and his wife, Sarah, a baby, and after many years Abraham's wife gave birth to a baby boy named Isaac. Print copies of the baby Isaac and poster templates for each child. Supply the children with crayons to color Baby Isaac. Have the children paste the baby in the center of the poster. The words surrounding the poster should tread, "God Always Keeps His Promises." Tell the children to put the poster on their refrigerator door or their bedroom wall.

    Abraham Star Craft

    • God told Abraham his descendants would be as plentiful as the stars in the sky. Obtain an empty cereal box and cut out one side of the box. Cut out a star shape from the cardboard. Have the children spread glue all over the star shape and wrap the star in aluminum foil. Punch a hole in the top of the star and put string through the hole. The children can find a special place to hang their stars. For a different approach, have the children make several small stars and tie them to a stick to create a mobile.

    Abraham Paper Doll

    • Print out copies of pictures or outlines of clothing for a biblical paper doll. Print copies of the outline of Abraham's body. Provide children with assorted crayons to color the pages. Cut out the clothing and body outline pages. Have the children paste pieces of yarn to the paper doll for Abraham's hair. Children can try the different clothing items on Abraham. For a more permanent approach, have children glue a completed outfit to the paper doll.
