- 1). Loosen the lug nuts on both front wheels with the lug wrench. Jack the front end up and place jack stands under the front frame. Remove the lug nuts and both front wheels.
- 2). Remove the plastic trim pins from the inner fender liner on both sides by prying them out with the trim tool. You can pick up a trim tool at any auto parts store for about the same price as a screwdriver. Set the inner fender liners aside.
- 3). Remove the bolt from the upper portion of the right front shock by holding the lower bolt in place with a box wrench and taking the top bolt off with another box wrench. Repeat this on the left front.
- 4). Remove the lower shock mount nuts on both sides with the socket set. You can access them from the underside of the lower control arm. Then pull the shock out.
- 5). Place the new shocks in position and bolt the bottom mounts to the control arms. Use the new mounting hardware that came with the replacement shocks.
- 6). Cut the retaining strap off the shock with a knife. The shock will slowly expand. Guide the upper portion of the shock into the upper mount, making sure to put the bushing, washer and nut on top before tightening the nut down in reverse of removal. Repeat this on the other side. Replace the inner fender liners then lower the front end off the jack stands with the floor jack.
- 7). Unbolt the rear shocks from the lower mounts using the socket set to remove the nuts and the box wrench to hold the bolts steady.
- 8). Unbolt the top retaining nuts with the socket set. Remove the shocks by hand.
- 9). Insert the replacement shock into the lower mount and reinstall the lower mounting hardware in reverse of removal.

Cut the retaining strap with the knife and guide the top of the shock into the upper retaining mount. Bolt the upper portion of the shock to the retaining mount with the new hardware, using the socket set.
