- 1). Open the printer settings. In most programs this can be found by clicking "Print" under the "File" menu.
- 2). Click on "Properties" to view detailed settings for your printer.
- 3). Set the paper size to 6.5x4 inches. Adjust margins as necessary to make sure that your text or graphics still fit on the card. If you eliminate the margins completely, the content of the card will run to the edge.
- 4). Adjust the load tray on your printer to accommodate the smaller card size. In most printers you can do this by sliding the guides on either side of the paper feeder inward so they fit the paper.
- 5). Cut a piece of test paper to 6.5x4 inches. Feed this through the printer and print a test version of your finished project. If the text or graphics run off the edges of the card, adjust the margin settings or rearrange the features on the card and continue to print test samples until it prints correctly.
- 6). Print the final product once you have achieved a good test copy.
