- 1). Cut the end of the nozzle on the caulk tube at a 45 degree angle using a utility knife.
- 2). Poke the foil cover at the bottom of the nozzle using the metal rod attached to the caulk gun. Insert the caulk into the caulk gun and push the plunger into the rear of tube and turn it. Push in the release on the end of the gun.
- 3). Start at a corner and hold the caulk gun so the slanted part of the cut nozzle is in the crevice between the trim and the ceiling.
- 4). Pull the caulk gun trigger evenly as you smoothly move the nozzle along the crevice, filling it with a thick bead of caulk.
- 5). Smooth the bead of caulk using a caulking tool or the side of your thumb. Wipe the excess caulk from the tool or your thumb frequently onto a rag. The goal is to smooth the caulk into the crevice so it naturally fills in the crevice and seamlessly connects the trim to the ceiling. Let the caulk dry for 24 hours before painting.
