The Location of the Thermostat on a 1999 Intrepid

    • 1). Apply your Intrepid's emergency brake. Position a hydraulic jack just behind the front, driver's side tire beneath the car's frame rail. Raise the car high enough so that you're able to slide under the front end without it touching your chest. Position a jack stand beneath the frame rail next to the hydraulic jack for extra support.

    • 2). Slide under the driver's side of your Intrepid and locate the lower radiator hose, connected to the lower corner of the radiator. The hose's diameter should measure no more than 2 inches.

    • 3). Follow the hose visually away from your Intrepid's radiator to its ending point on the side of the engine. The part that the hose connects to here is the cooling system's thermostat housing.
