- 1). Make an easy purse from an old pair of jeans. Cut 1½ inches around both back pockets of the old jeans.
- 2). Place the outside of the pockets facing each other and attach a zipper to the top, per zipper package instructions, centering it.
- 3). Pin the two pocket pieces together along the remaining three sides with straight pins. Sew a ½-inch seam. Open the zipper and turn the pocket purse right side out through the opening.
- 4). Cut the double-folded seam from the remaining jeans. Cut at the seam and ¼-inch away, where the double fold ends. Use this ¼-inch strip as the handle. Attach one side to the outside left seam of the purse, about 1 inch down. Stitch over the handle end several times for strength. Repeat the same process on the other side.
- 5). Add embellishments to this cute and unique easy-to-make purse (see Tips). Use the rest of the jeans' legs to make additional purses. Use print fabric or felt to make a front purse pocket.
