- 1). Measure the child's waist using the measuring tape. Cut a piece of ribbon that is about 2 feet longer than the child's waist measurement, which ensures there is plenty of room to add tulle to the tutu and tie it around the child's waist.
- 2). Pick one shade or buy a variety of greens to make a gator-colored tutu.
- 3). Lay out a sheet of tulle. To create strips of tulle, begin by rolling up the sheet and cutting off the outer edge to ensure a smooth edge. Then, cut the roll about every 4 inches. Repeat with the other sheets of tulle. When you unroll the pieces of tulle, you will have several 4-inch sections of tulle that are a few feet long.
- 4). Wrap a piece of tulle around the ribbon, then tie a knot to secure it in place. Repeat with the other pieces of tulle until the ribbon is lined with pieces of tulle.
- 5). Wrap the tutu around the kid's waist. Tie it in place to create a fun, gator-colored tutu.
