How to Remove Old Users From Windows XP Safely

    • 1). Click on "Start" on the taskbar in the bottom left corner of the screen.

    • 2). Select the "Control Panel."

    • 3). Click on "User Accounts" under the "Pick a category" section. If the Control Panel is configured to show menus instead of categories, "Pick a category" will not show. Go directly to "User Accounts."

    • 4). Select the account that you want to change in the "or pick an account to change" section.

    • 5). Click on "Delete the account" under "What do you want to change about [Username's] account?" Choose whether or not to keep the old user's files and then follow the instructions to finish deleting the account.
