- 1). Insert the Virtual PC for Mac installation disk into the disk drive of your computer.
- 2). Double-click on the "Install Virtual PC" option from the application menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the installation process. When prompted, click the "Restart" button to restart your computer.
- 3). Double-click on the "Virtual PC" icon in your "Applications" folder. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation process.
- 4). Double-click on the "Virtual PC" icon to run the application. Click the "File" tab from the application menu and select the "New" option. Click the "Install Your Own Operating System" button, followed by the "Begin" button.
- 5). Click the "Continue" button. In the following menu, select the version of Windows XP that you wish to install from the list of operating systems. Click the "Continue" button.
- 6). Leave the "Virtual Machine Format" at its default setting. Type the name of your virtual machine in the space provided and click the "Create" button. Allow several minutes for this process to finish.
- 7). Double-click on the virtual machine you created in Step 6. You will be prompted with a message that reads "OS not found. Install an OS on this hard drive." Insert your Windows XP setup disk into the disk drive of your Mac computer.
- 8). Click the "PC" tab from the application menu and select the "Reset" option. Virtual PC will now reset. When it finishes, you will be prompted to "Press any key to boot from CD." Press any key on your keyboard.
- 9). Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows XP on your PowerBook G4 Mac computer. Allow several minutes to several hours for the installation process to finish.

Double-click on the Virtual PC application to boot up and run Windows XP on your PowerBook G4 Mac computer.
