Aviator Browser For Security And Privacy: Tom"s Mac Software Pick

My fellow About expert, Scott Orgera, who covers browsers, tipped me off to the WhiteHat Aviator browser. Aviator is built on top of Google's Chromium project, the browsing engine used in Google's Chrome browser.

WhiteHat Aviator was designed by the people at WhiteHat Security, a well-regarded security firm. It was originally designed for their in-house use, but WhiteHat decided to make the browser available to anyone who values their privacy, and who wants additional security against the many malware and adware threats online.

I already use the Epic browser, another Tom's Mac Software Pick winner, specifically for its privacy features when I'm banking online. Epic doesn't retain cookies or history, and also prevents tracking. WhiteHat Aviator sounded interesting, with its added security features that can manage any plug-in or extension, and also help prevent malware and adware from attaching itself to your browser.

Scott has a pretty good write-up on WhiteHat Aviator; stop by and read his review.

WhiteHat Aviator is free, and available for both the Mac OS and Windows.
