MediaMonkey

• 1). Open iTunes and click on your iPod under the "Devices" heading located within the left panel of the program. On the right pane, scroll down until you see the "Options" heading and un-check the box next to "Open iTunes when this iPod is attached." Now, check the box next to "Enable disk use" and then click the "Apply" button located in the lower-right hand portion of the program. Exit out of iTunes.
  
  
• 2). Download and install the MediaMonkey software (see Resources).
  
  
• 3). Open MediaMonkey and connect your iPod to your PC.
  
  
• 4). Click "File," located in the top-left portion of the program, and then select "Add/Rescan Tracks to the Library." Use the interface provided to browse your PC's hard-drive and select the folders that contain the music you wish to transfer to your iPod. Click "Ok" within the same window when you are done. MediaMonkey will now add the music from your PC to its library.
  
  
• 5). Click "Library" on the left panel of MediaMonkey to view all of the music in your library. Select the songs you wish to transfer to your iPod. Drag-and-drop the selected music files to the iPod icon located on the left panel near the bottom of the program. Your songs will now begin to transfer to your iPod. A progress bar appears at the bottom of the screen while a transfer is taking place.
  
  
• 6). Right-click on the iPod icon in the left panel of MediaMonkey and select "Safely remove device" when you are ready to disconnect your iPod from your PC.
  
  

SharePod

• 1). Open iTunes and click on your iPod under the "Devices" heading located within the left panel of the program. On the right pane, scroll down until you see the "Options" heading and un-check the box next to "Open iTunes when this iPod is attached." Now, check the box next to "Enable disk use" and then click the "Apply" button located in the lower-right hand portion of the program. Exit out of iTunes.
  
  
• 2). Download and install the SharePod software (see Resources).
  
  
• 3). Connect your iPod to your PC and open "SharePod.exe." Wait a few moments for SharePod to find your device.
  
  
• 4). Click "Start" on your desktop then "My Computer" and locate the folders that contain the music you wish to copy to your iPod. Drag-and-drop an entire folder or specific song files into the main window of the SharePod application. The program will automatically begin transferring the music to your iPod.
  
  
• 5). Click the "Eject iPod" button after your music is done copying. SharePod will close after you eject your iPod.
