Guide Review - Slappa Damask iPad Case Review

Slappa's Damask iPad case is a decent case to protect your iPad while traveling, but it doesn't distinguish itself from the pack.

The case is a fairly simple affair - a zipper runs around 3/4 of the case, allowing you to lay it open and place the iPad (or netbook, the case is designed for both) inside. The interior of the case is made from padded material, though it's not as soft as the plush interiors sported by other cases. I doubt that will make any difference to the condition of the iPad, but I prefer the softer plush.

Inside the case, there are elastic straps at the far corners to hold the iPad in place. These straps only do a passing job, though, since they secure only two corners (on one side) of the iPad.

It's easy for the iPad to move around inside the case and, depending on how you open the case, it's possible for the iPad to spill into your lap or onto the floor. That's not likely to be a common scenario, but it's certainly possible.

Because these straps don't fully secure the iPad, this case is best used to protect the iPad during travel, not while you use it.

The exterior of the case sports a rubberized damask pattern that makes the case easy to grip, though the addition of a handle or strap for carrying options would be nice.

Ultimately, the Slappa Damask iPad case is a solid travel case at a good price. Its drawbacks, though, would have me looking for another case, even if I had to pay a little more for it.
