How to Remove a Domain Name Registry in Windows XP

    Opening the Registry Editor

    • 1). Click on the green Start button, located at the lower left of the computer screen.

    • 2). A menu will pop up. Click on the "Run" icon, located at the lower right

    • 3). In the box next to the word "Open," type in "regedit" and click "OK."

    • 4). The Registry Editor will open.

    Locating and Removing Domain Names

    • 1). Click on the "Edit" menu on the toolbar and select "Find."

    • 2). Type the first few letters of the domain name you wish to remove, then click "Find Next" or hit the "Enter" key. The registry will be searched and a list will appear in one of the panes.

    • 3). Click on the name you want to remove and press the "Delete" key. After deleting the desired domain name, clicking on "Next" or hitting the"F3" button will take you to the next entry.

    • 4). Repeat as needed

    • 5). Reboot the computer for the changes to take effect
