- 1). Rinse out the bottles thoroughly. Allow them to dry completely.
- 2). Mix one part flour with one to two parts water to make paper mache paste. It should be about as thick as white craft glue.
- 3). Tear the newspaper into strips about an inch wide and a few inches long.
- 4). Dip the strips one at a time into the paste and layer them onto the bottle until it is covered.

Add more strips onto the bottle, allowing them to dry after every four layers. - 6). Add extra layers of paper mache on the bottom half of the bottle and at its top to create the curves of a bowling pin. Create smooth curves by alternating horizontally oriented layers, which add thickness, with diagonally oriented layers, which mask the transitions between areas of different thickness.
- 7). Wait for the paper mache to dry. Paint the bowling pin white with two horizontal red stripes at the neck.
