- 1). Cut out the Pergo plank with the hole in it. To do this, you will need to cut up the plank while it is still on the floor and attached to the neighboring planks. Start by using a rotary saw to cut lengthwise along the entire plank. Be careful not to cut too deep, as you could damage the subfloor. Make a series of 4 cuts, each at a 45 degree angle towards the cut in the center of the plank. You should then be able to pry the pieces out of the floor with a prybar.
- 2). Find another matching plank to fit in the hole.
- 3). Cut the groove/tounge out from one of the lengthwise sides and then from the top and bottom edges. This will allow you to sit the plank back into the hole.
- 4). Apply glue to the tounge/grooves along the edges of the hole except the lengthwise side where you will be snapping in the new board.
- 5). Insert the new board into the hole, snapping the tounge/groove into the opening on the side of the board in the hole. Gently lower the board into place.
- 6). Wipe away any excess glue.
- 7). Set a heavy object over the board that was replaced. Leave it there for at least 24 hours.
