- 1). Move your cursor to the bottom of the screen to pop up the Taskbar. If it doesn't appear, try the screen's other edges. If it appears nowhere, try the directions to restore the Taskbar by editing the registry (see Section 2).
- 2). Right-click anywhere on the Taskbar and select "Properties." This will bring up the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window.
- 3). Uncheck the "Auto-hide the Taskbar" box and click "OK." The Taskbar will now appear permanently.
- 1). Click "Start," then "Run." Type "regedit" (without quotes) and press "Enter." This will bring up the Windows Registry. Registry "keys" appear in a nested-folder structure in the left pane; clicking one of them will cause one or more "values" to appear in the right pane.
- 2). Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer - 3). Double-click each one of the following values in the right pane, and confirm they are all either set to "0" or do not exist at all: "NoSetTaskbar," "NoTrayItemsDisplay," "HideClock," "NoToolbarsOnTaskbar" and "NoTrayContextMenu." Once you've set all of these values to zero, close the Registry Editor and reboot your computer.
