- 1). Rinse the turmeric-stained portion of the cotton fabric immediately with cold water. Avoid using hot water, which might cause the stain to set.
- 2). Fill a small bowl with warm water and a few drops of a gentle laundry detergent. Mix the solution to blend. Dip a clean cloth into the soapy water and begin sponging the fabric to work the stain out. Continue to moisten the cloth with the water and rub it into the fabric until the stain is gone. Rinse the fabric with warm water to remove any soap residue.
- 3). Dab at a stubborn stain with another cloth saturated with hydrogen peroxide, which will help break down the turmeric. Continue dabbing the fabric with the peroxide-soaked cloth until the stain is removed.
- 4). Wash the white cotton clothing item in a washing machine according to label care instructions.
