My Sansa E250R Rhapsody Won't Transfer Music

    • 1). Upgrade the account. There are four different types of Rhapsody accounts--Rhapsody Premier, Premier Plus, Rhapsody Unlimited and Rhapsody To Go. Rhapsody Premier subscription account holders can transfer songs directly to the player. Those with other types of accounts can purchase songs to transfer to the player.

    • 2). Check the connection. The device should be powered on before connecting it to a USB port. The connected USB port should be 2.0. Sometimes USB ports in the front of desktops will not allow the device to connect properly. Move the device to a USB port in the rear if using a desktop. Look on the Sansa Rhapsody screen and verify that the screen says that it is connected.

    • 3). Update the Device Manager. Click on "Computer/My Computer" from the desktop Start menu. Verify that the Sansa Rhapsody is displayed in the Computer folder. If not, enter "Device Manager" in the Start menu search field. Click on "Device Manager." The device should be listed under "Portable Devices." If the device is showing up as an unknown USB device. Select the unknown device, and select "Properties." Click on the "Drivers" tab and select to uninstall the driver. Then disconnect the Sansa Rhapsody. Plug the Rhapsody back into the computer and follow the Windows Explorer prompts to find and reinstall the appropriate driver.

    • 4). Authorize the computer. Open and log in to Rhapsody. Choose "Manage My Account" from the My Account menu. Select the "Authorizations" link. If "Authorize Your Computer" is an option, that means the computer is currently authorized. Click on the option and follow the prompts to authorize the system.
