How Can I Get Songs Off of a USB Device to a iPod?

    • 1). Plug the USB drive into an open USB slot. A light on the device should flash; otherwise go to "My Computer" to confirm the drive is recognized.

    • 2). Push the iPod into a second available slot and confirm it's also listed under My Computer.

    • 3). Double-click on the icon representing the flash drive In "My Computer," It will probably say "Removable disk" or "Flash Drive." A window will open showing the contents of the drive. If the songs are contained in a specific folder on the drive, continue clicking the necessary folders until the songs are shown.

    • 4). Click the iTunes icon to get it started. A small icon representing the iPod should be shown near the left side. Wait a while, and re-connect the iPod if iTunes fails to recognize it.

    • 5). Adjust the two windows (iTunes and flash drive) so they are side by side. Click and drag to highlight the songs you want and drag them to the iPod icon in iTunes. Do not let go until the cursor is placed directly over the "Music" folder and the cursor changes to a plus sign.

    • 6). Let go of the mouse button and the songs will be transferred through iTunes onto the iPod.
