- 1). Connect the small end of the iPod USB cable to the jack on the rear of the wall charger. Connect the large end to the USB jack on the bottom of the iPod.
- 2). Push the small metal prongs down and out from the wall charger so that they are sticking straight out. For travel purposes, the iPod charger has fold-up metal prongs.
- 3). Connect the charger to a standard wall outlet. Allow the iPod to charge for a few minutes before proceeding.
- 4). Locate the "Hold" button on the top of the iPod and slide it so it is in the "unlocked" position. When a strip of orange is visible under the button, the iPod is locked.
- 5). Hold down the "Select" button, which is the button in the center of the iPod click wheel, while holding down the "Menu" button at the same time. The "Menu" button is on the top of the click wheel.
Hold for a few seconds until the "Apple logo" appears on the screen. You may need to repeat this multiple times before a successful reset occurs. Proceed to Step 6 if you have an iPod Touch or iPod without a clickwheel. - 6). Hold down the main center button on the iPod touch for a few seconds until the "Apple logo" appears. For iPod shuffles, slide the power switch back and forth multiple times.
