- 1). Vacuum the affected area of carpet with a vacuum cleaner. Run the vacuum over the area for three to four minutes in each spot. Vacuuming will help loosen the nap.
- 2). Rub each indentation with ice cubes. As you rub an indentation with ice cubes, work the ice cube deep into the nap of the carpet.
- 3). Comb the affected area of carpet with a standard comb. As you run the comb through the carpet, use a fluffing motion to pull the nap of the carpet upward. If some impressions remain, repeat the process with the ice and comb until the impressions are gone. Vacuum the area again.
