How to Replace a Mondeo's Front Stabilizer Bar Bushings

    • 1). Brace the Mondeo's right-rear wheel with two wheel chocks, one at the front and one at the back. Lift the Mondeo's front end with the floor jack. Place a jack stand under each side of the front frame and lower the Mondeo onto the stands with the floor jack.

    • 2). Climb under the front end with the socket set and replacement bushings. The stabilizer bar runs from side to side under the front cross member, just to the rear of the front bumper.

    • 3). Unbolt the left stabilizer U-bracket with the socket set. Remove the old bushing and slide the new one into place by hand.

    • 4). Repeat Step 3 on the right side to replace the right stabilizer bar bushing.

    • 5). Lift the Mondeo off the jack stands with the floor jack. Remove the jack stands by hand. Lower the Mondeo to the ground, remove the floor jack and then remove the wheel chocks by hand.
