- 3). Scrub the lines on the plate away with a nonabrasive scrubbing pad or soft-bristled nylon brush. If the tough or below-surface stains or marks don't fade, empty the sink and rinse the plate thoroughly with warm water. Refill the sink with a quart of room-temperature carbonated water and 3 tbsp. of household bleach, or warm tap water and 3 tbsp. of 3 percent solution hydrogen peroxide, and soak the plate for 30 to 60 minutes and scrub again.
- 4). Rinse the plate thoroughly with warm tap water or carbonated water. If you used bleach, rinse until you can no longer smell the bleach.
- 5). Set the plate aside to air dry or wipe the plate dry with a soft cloth.
- 6). Repeat with any other plates as needed.
