- 1). Apply nail polish remover to your brass jewelry with a clean cotton ball to remove any old lacquer on the brass. Wash the jewelry with warm water and a small amount of dish soap; let it dry completely.
- 2). Polish the brass with brass cleaner and a clean rag. This will remove any tarnish on the brass. Apply a small amount of linseed oil to your buffing cloth, and buff the brass for a shiny finish.
- 3). Paint the lacquer onto your brass jewelry with the small paintbrush. Coat the brass evenly. Let the lacquer dry completely. Repeat this process to add a second coat of lacquer.
- 4). Repeat this process if the lacquer cracks or peels on your brass jewelry.
