- 1). Disconnect the truck's negative battery cable using a wrench on the cable clamp nut--an insulated handle will provide extra safety.
- 2). Unscrew the screws along the lower edge of the dashboard's center trim panel using a screwdriver. Pull the panel outward to detach the upper clips and disconnect the electrical connectors in the back of the panel.
- 3). Remove the mounting screws for the Frontier's current radio unit and remove it from the dash. Disconnect the radio's electrical connector and antenna lead in the rear.
- 4). Install the new stereo in its mounting bracket. If an adapter for the Pathfinder's electrical connector is needed, connect it to the stereo.
- 5). Connect the electrical connector and antenna lead to the stereo unit and its mounting bracket.
- 6). Slide and install the stereo within the dashboard and secure it with the mounting screws.
- 7). Reconnect the center trim panel to the dashboard, attaching it with its clips on the top edge and applying the mounting screws on the bottom.
- 8). Reconnect the Frontier's negative battery cable.
