Suggestions for Bedroom Carpet

    Patterned Carpets

    • Patterned carpets come in a range of design possibilities, from traditional floral motifs to geometric and contemporary designs. Such carpets, in addition to performing a functional purpose, become a prominent decorative object in the room. These carpets are best for bedrooms that aren't overcrowded with furniture so you can properly showcase the intricacies or innovative colors and images in the carpet. These styles of carpets are most suitable for bedrooms largely decorated with one or two solid colors. Otherwise, the added pattern and colors of the carpet will give an overly busy quality to the design of the room. Additionally, these rugs also give a splash of vibrance and energy to kids rooms.

    Shag Rugs

    • Shag rugs are perfect for a bedroom as they give the room a cozier, warmer atmosphere. Shag rugs consist of the softest materials, with each fiber longer than the fibers of a typical rug. This creates a rug that practically massages bare feet, perfect for when climbing in and out of bed. Some shag rugs are so plush, thick and soft, they're almost like a thin mattress on the floor. If you have a fireplace in your bedroom, you could place your shag carpet reasonably close to it and lounge on the rug near the fire, reading a book or just relaxing. Extremely popular in the 1960s and 1970s, a shag rug is also suitable for bedrooms that take on a retro look.

    Novelty Rugs

    • Novelty rugs, with their larger than life images and logos, are most appropriate for kids' rooms that already have a strong decorative theme. For example, a rug designed to look like the grass of a football field complete with yard line markers works well in a sports-themed child's room. Similarly, you can purchase rugs that have enormous logos of sports teams on them for the room of a young sports fan. Alternatively, rugs with images of beloved childhood icons such as Barbie, Hannah Montana, Power Rangers or other characters also work well in kids' rooms.
