- Bleach can be used to attack your dirty grout.32 year old bathroom image by Russell Espinoza from Fotolia.com
A 1:1 solution of warm water and bleach makes an excellent mold and mildew removing solution. Spray the mixture anywhere that is plagued with surface mildew -- your bathroom grout, patio furniture or vinyl siding -- and scrub away with a firm-bristled brush. Fabric or sheets tainted by mildew can also be treated using bleach. Simply wash the fabric on a high-heat cycle and add 1/2 cup of bleach; although use caution when washing colored items with bleach because it will discolor clothing. - Kill unsightly weeds by sprinkling undiluted bleach at the roots. After several days the weeds can be pulled out easily, and the strength of the bleach will prevent their re-growth. Remove moss and algae from your garden path by adding 3/4 cup of bleach to a gallon of water, pouring it onto your walk and scrubbing clean with a steel-bristled brush. The bleach will brighten your patio stones or bricks in the process.

Brighten your fine glassware by adding a teaspoon or two of bleach to your dishwater, or a tablespoon to your dishwasher's next cycle. Dry to a polish using a soft towel. To brighten your white porcelain, cover the item with several paper towels and saturate with undiluted bleach. After a 15 minute soak your item's original luster will be restored. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry with a soft towel. - The power of bleach can be harnessed to sanitize just about anything you can imagine. If you purchase children's toys or fashion accessories at second-hand or thrift shops, you can ensure their cleanliness by soaking them for five to 10 minutes in a gallon of warm water with 3/4 cup bleach added and a few drops of antibacterial dish detergent. Clean your countertops and kitchen cutting boards of food-borne bacteria by scrubbing with a solution of 2 quarts water and 1 teaspoon bleach.
