- 1). Store the ProHeat Complete in a cool, dry area where it will not be exposed to wide temperature shifts, especially freezing. As the unit uses water, exposure to freezing temperatures or extreme heat can damage the unit, causing it to malfunction.
- 2). Use Bissell-brand cleansing formulas in the unit, as the use of other cleaning agents, including pine oil, lemon oil, chemical or solvent-based formulas may cause cracking or other internal damage to the ProHeat Complete and result in malfunction.
- 3). Check the formula tank and the water tank on the unit to ensure they are both filled with the appropriate liquid. If either is empty or low on fluid, the unit will not function properly.
- 4). Use hot tap water in the tank of the ProHeat Complete to ensure proper cleaning. (Do not boil or microwave water. Hot tap water is best.) Cool or cold water will not provide a thorough cleaning of the surface in question.
- 5). Drain and clean the 2-in-1 tank after every use. Let dry and return to the machine. Failure to clean the tank on a regular basis can result in reduced functioning of the ProHeat Complete.
- 6). Clean the hoses, nozzles and brushes on a regular basis with a clean, damp cloth to ensure that dirt and debris does not build up, causing the machine to lose effectiveness. Make sure the tanks are installed correctly and completely into the machine if the machine is not working properly.
- 7). Check the brushes regularly to make sure fiber, hair and string has not gotten trapped on the brushes, which will limit effectiveness. If there is hair or fiber on the brushes, use a pair of scissors to cut and remove the string from the brushes.
- 8). Check to make sure the "SmartTemp" switch is turned on with every use, the power switch is turned on and the power cord is correctly plugged into an electrical source.
- 9). Open the "Belt Access" door with a flat head screwdriver (with the ProHeat Complete turned off) to check the belts, which should be visibly looped around the motor shaft. If the belts are broken, off track or missing, replace with a new belt.
