How to Clean Self-Adhesive Tile

    • 1). Sweep the self-adhesive tile regularly with a soft-bristled broom. Sweeping should be done on a daily basis to remove loose dirt and debris. If you have a vacuum with a brush attachment, that will also help to remove loose dirt without scratching.

    • 2). Spot clean, smaller areas that contain stains. It is not always necessary to drag out the mop and bucket each time you want to clean your self-adhesive tile. Use a damp sponge to clean the tile if the majority of the floor has already been cleaned and a spill or mishap occurs. Dry the area with a paper towel.

    • 3). Clean the entire self-adhesive tile floor with a mixture of ammonia and water. Pour ½ cup of ammonia into a bucket containing a gallon of water. Use a soft mop to apply the ammonia solution and allow the floor to air dry.

    • 4). Mix up a baking soda paste to clean tougher stains on self-adhesive tile. Pour a ¼ cup of baking soda into a small bowl and add just enough water to make a paste. Apply the mixture with a sponge and use it to remove scuff marks, grease stains, crayon or tar.

    • 5). Use a commercial brand cleaner that is specially designed to be used on self-adhesive tile. Apply the cleaner as recommended by the manufacturer, as often as necessary.
