- 1). Measure the ceiling along the top of the wall from one corner. Mark the measurement on a piece of molding with two marks (one at either end). Leave a few inches of space beyond both marks.
- 2). Set the molding on the saw the same way it will be on the wall. Set one of the marks directly under the blade.
- 3). Swivel the blade 45 degrees (so it faces the part you're keeping and points away from the part you're cutting off). Cut the molding.
- 4). Move the second mark to put it under the blade. Turn the blade 45 degrees to the opposite direction. (So, again, it will be pointing at the measured section of the moldling). Cut the molding.
- 5). Repeat the process for the wall coming off the other side of the corner.
- 6). Hold the two molding pieces in place, pressing the miter cuts against each other to make the corner. Use a trim nailer to shoot nails along both pieces, every 10 or 12 inches, securing them. (Note: For long pieces of trim, have an assistant hold up one end.)
