- 1). Place 2 lbs. of beeswax into a large coffee can and place the coffee can into a pot. Fill the pot with water. Using a large coffee can and a lot of beeswax will allow you to make a bigger candle.
- 2). Heat the pot over high heat, which will cause the water to boil. This will melt the beeswax without causing it to scorch.
- 3). Cut a length of cotton wick as long as you want your candle to be. If you want the candle to be large, use a piece of twine that is 2 inches deeper than the coffee can.
- 4). Dip the candlewick into the melted wax, submerging it until it is the depth of the coffee can. Pull the candlewick out after two seconds. Let it cool for one minute.
- 5). Dip the candlestick again in the same manner as before. The more you dip the candle, the wider the candle will become. Make sure to allow the candle to cool for at least one minute in between each dipping. Do not allow the wick to sit too long in the wax or the wax will melt back off the candle into the can. Allow the candle to cool for 20 minutes, once it reaches the width that you prefer.
