- 1). Open Photoshop and click on the "File" menu. Select "Create New."
- 2). Click on the "Image" menu and scroll to "Size." Click on the "Inches" button. Enter "3.7" in the width column and "2.2" in the height column. The extra size will give you room to cut the business card.
- 3). Add a new layer by clicking on the "Add New Layer" button of the "Layers" box. Create a background in this layer. Click on the "Paint bucket" or "Gradient fill" tool, then select a color from the swatches. Click anywhere on the background. Create a new layer.
- 4). Import any images or icons you wish to use by clicking on "File" then "Open New." Select the image or icon and highlight it with the "Select" tool. Right-click and select "Copy." Return to the image of your card and right-click on it. Select "Paste" and click on the "Arrow" tool. Drag the icon to the appropriate place. Add a new layer.
- 5). Click on the "Text" tool and drag a rectangle over the area where you wish to add text. Enter the appropriate text, such as your name. Use the font menu to increase the size, change the font, change the color or add an effect.
- 6). Continue adding text until you have added all of the desired text for your card.
