- 1). Bring the phone back to the AT&T retailer where you bought it if you have had the phone for fewer than 30 days and it is dead or defective. AT&T will give you a replacement iPhone, since the original one you purchased probably had technical issues.
- 2). Visit the Apple Support website to check your warranty status if your phone is older than 30 days. After 30 days, you must send the phone to Apple and not AT&T. The Apple Support website is in the Resources section.
- 3). Enter the serial number of your iPhone in the appropriate box on the website. To find your serial number, open iTunes on your computer, click on "iTunes" in the menu at the top left, then "Preferences." Choose the "Devices" tab, then hover your cursor over your iPhone in the list of latest backups. The serial number will display. When you enter it on the Apple Support website, it will tell you if your warranty is still valid. If it is not, you will need to return to AT&T, the Apple store or another retailer to purchase a new phone.
- 4). Take your iPhone to your local Apple Store if your warranty is still valid. The employees will examine your phone and try to repair it. If not, your warranty will cover a new phone.
