How to Remove Ptsnoop.exe

    • 1). Click the Windows "Start." Click "Run" or "Start Search" (Windows Vista users) and type "%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" (without quotes), then click "OK." Click "Create a restore point" on the "Welcome to System Restore Page" and click "Next." Type in a name for your restore point and click "Create." Click "Close." This will back up the registry and the system.

    • 2). Press "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Delete" together to open the Windows Task Manager. Click the "Processes" tab to show the currently running processes on your computer.

    • 3). Scroll down and click "ptsnoop_server.exe." Click "End Process."

    • 4). Launch your anti-virus program and click the "Update" button to install any new virus or spyware definitions. If you don't have an anti-virus program, download and install AVG Anti-Virus free (see Resources). Launch your program after it has installed and click the "Update" button to install all new updates.

    • 5). Click "Perform Full Scan" and remove all detected W32.Elet parasites. Close your anti-virus program.

    • 6). Click the Windows "Start" button and click "Search" or "Start Search" (Windows Vista users). Search for and delete the following file:
      ptsnoop_server.exe

    • 7). Empty the Recycle Bin to complete the removal process.
