How to Make Curved Moulding

    • 1). Place the moulding in the steam box. It should be steamed for one hour per one inch of thickness. Most moulding will be done within two hours.

    • 2). Map out the desired curve of the moulding on the peg board using the pegs. The moulding will be placed between the pegs, so they should be placed on both sides of the desired curve.

    • 3). Put on the gloves and remove the moulding from the steam box. Quickly place a sheet of cork board on both sides of the moulding and fit the moulding-cork board sandwich into the pegs. You should start at one side and work your way along the curve, gently bending the moulding to fit inside.

    • 4). Allow the moulding to fully dry out. This generally takes one to two days depending on the thickness of the moulding. The pegs can be removed and the moulding should retain its curved shape.
