Ribbon Headband

• A braided or woven ribbon headband is an easy craft to make and allows for a lot of customization because there is such a huge array of ribbons available on the market. Choose an intricate weaving pattern or a simple braid with one or multiple ribbon colors to achieve you look. You can leave extra length to create ties at the bottom of the band to attach it to your head, or you can glue or sew the woven craft onto an elastic band to give it stretch to secure it in place. Elastic Headband

• A headband with a stretchy consistency will be the most comfortable and easiest to wear by an array of people with different head sizes. Use strips of a stretchy material such as spandex or thick elastic bands (like those used in clothing) as your materials and weave in the pattern of your choice. Secure the ends together by tying them tightly or sewing them together as the stretch negates the need to untie the band regularly to get a good fit. Natural-Inspired Headband

• Let nature inspire your woven headband and tap into resources such as hemp or raffia for your materials. Because these items can be slightly brittle and do not offer much stretch, you should adhere them to a hard (plastic or metal) headband with hot glue or craft glue. Leather Headband

• Tanned leather has both a soft and slightly stretchy consistency that can lend itself well to a woven headband creation. Using equally sized thin strips, weave together a leather headband that is monochromatic or incorporate different hues of leather for a different look. Depending on the manipulability of the leather, you may need to incorporate an elastic band or simply leave ends at the bottom to be tied. To give the look texture and a little extra sparkle, weave in colorful beads at different sections of the headband.
