- 1). Cut the stems of the flowers so that they are short enough to fit inside a juice can or drinking glass without bending. The bloom of the flower should come just above the top of the glass.
- 2). Fill a plastic box with 3-inches of silica gel.
- 3). Lay the flowers in the silica gel side-by-side.
- 4). Cover the flowers with more silica gel. Place the lid on the box and let the flowers dehydrate for five days.
- 5). Lift the flowers out of the silica gel and gently shake off excess granules. Clamp a clothespin just beneath the base of each blossom.
- 6). Mix the clear polyester casting resin in a disposable plastic cup according to the package directions. Stir the mixture with a wooden craft stick.
- 7). Hold the flower by the clothespin and brush on the resin with a soft paintbrush.
- 8). Rest the clothespin across the top of an empty juice can or tall, thin drinking glass. Allow the flower's stem to rest inside the can or glass while the resin sets.
