- 1). Soak up the spill with paper towels starting at the edges and working inward. By soaking up the edges of the spill first it will prevent the stain from spreading.
- 2). Make a solution using 1 tsp. of liquid dish washing detergent with 1 cup warm water. Mix the two together dissolving the dish washing detergent into the water as best as possible.
- 3). Sponge the stain with the mixture. Blot the area and gently rub in circles to work the coffee out of the carpet.
- 4). Soak up the mixture with clean paper towels.
- 5). Create a mixture of one third cup white vinegar and two thirds cup warm water. Mix the two together thoroughly.
- 6). Dip a sponge into the vinegar water mixture and lightly blot the stain. The vinegar and water will break up and pull the deep coffee stain from the carpet.
- 7). Wipe the carpet with a clean paper towel to soak up any leftover cleaning agents.
