- 1). Grasp the bolt's head securely with a wrench or socket wrench.
- 2). Push the tool's handle in a counterclockwise motion to rotate the screw and loosen it. Pull the handle in a clockwise motion to rotate the screw and tighten it.
- 3). Attempt to loosen stuck bolts by using a mixture of force and lubrication. Tap the top of the head solidly to try and jostle the bolt in its seat. Apply some penetrative oil or grease to the head and visible threads. Wait a few minutes, then try rotating the bolt again.
