- 1). Click the Windows orb. Click "Computer" on the right-hand side of the pop-up menu.
- 2). Click on the "Computer" icon under "Folders" at the bottom of the left pane. Right-click the drive letter for the removable drive listed under the "Devices With Removable Storage" section, in the center pane. Click "Create Shortcut" from the menu.
- 3). Drag and drop the removable drive's icon from the desktop to the task bar located at the bottom of the screen. This creates an icon for the removable drive, but it's attached to the "Windows Explorer" icon. Right-click on the Windows Explorer icon to see the removable drive's icon and then click the link.
- 4). Drag the removable drive's icon from the desktop and hover it over the Windows orb in the left corner on the task bar. This opens the "Start" menu. Continue dragging the icon so that it hovers over the "All Programs" list. After that list opens, drop the removable drive's icon anywhere in the list of programs.
