How to Clean a Weber Q Grill

    • 1). Turn off the gas supply on your Weber Q Grill, and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

    • 2). Inspect the spider/insect screen on your Weber Q Grill annually by removing the control panel. Remove any dirt or insect residue by removing the burner to clean the interior screen. Lightly brush the screen with a soft brush to remove residue.

    • 3). Remove the main burner, and inspect the interior with a flashlight once yearly for collected burnt residue. Use a wire brush to clean off residue, and wipe the area with a damp sponge.

    • 4). Check the air shutter opening annually, located at the ends of the burner unit. Clean any clogged burner ports at the valve orifice with a steel-bristle brush; burner ports should be fully opened for proper operation of the unit, but never attempt to enlarge the original ports when cleaning.

    • 5). Mix up a warm water and mild detergent solution to clean the outside of your Weber Q Grill. Wring out a sponge in the soapy water, and thoroughly wipe down the unit to remove dirt and oily residue. Rinse the sponge in plain water to remove residual suds.

    • 6). Slide out the bottom tray on your Weber Q Grill, cleaning off grease with warm soapy water and a sponge. Remove soap with plain water on a damp sponge.

    • 7). Clean the cooking grate regularly with a brass-bristle brush by first heating up the grill, allowing the residue to smoke off and scrubbing with the brush. Remove stubborn, baked-on foods by removing the grate and washing it in warm soapy water in the sink. Rinse with plain water, and allow the grate to dry before returning it to the grill.

    • 8). Clean the inside lid when the unit is still slightly warm by rubbing it with a paper towel to remove excess grease.

    • 9). Wash the fold-out work tables on your Weber grill with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Never use any cleansers on any part of your grill that contain xylene, lemon-based cleansers, acid or mineral spirits. Wipe off residual suds with a damp sponge.
