- 1). Get a shark tooth by buying one from an Internet shop or a store that sells novelty and natural jewelry findings. If you live close to a beach by waters where sharks are known to swim, search for shark teeth along the edge of the water where older materials tend to get washed up. Make sure that the shark tooth that you use has a wide top so that it is almost in the shape of a T.
- 2). Cut a foot of string just to make sure you have enough--you can always trim some off later. Find the middle of the string and wrap it around the side of the tooth that you are designating as the back (the side that will face you when you wear it).
- 3). Cross the two ends of the string on the other side of the tooth and tie a knot. The top of the tooth should be wide enough to hold the string down and not allow it to slip off. Double the string back across to the back of the tooth and up to the top of the tooth. Make sure it is tight all the way around and make another knot. Bring both ends of the string up to the top of the tooth and make another three or four more knots.
