- Unfortunately, the first generation iPod Nano doesn't have access to the wider selection of games that later iPod Nanos and iPod Touches can access. However, there are still a few games located in the Extras menu, and they are quite fun.
- Brick is Apple's take on the classic arcade game Breakout. You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen and have to bounce a ball onto bricks near the top of the screen. Both the angle of the ball hitting the paddle, and the speed of the paddle affect the trajectory of the ball after being struck.
(An interesting side note, Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak both worked on the original Breakout arcade game while employed at Atari in the 1970s.) - Music Quiz calls up samples of music from your iPod's music library and asks you to identify them as quickly as possible. Scroll up and down the list to select the song you hear - the faster you are, the more points you get. This game will cause your iPod's battery to drain much faster than other games or listening to music normally.
- In Parachute, enemy helicopters drop paratroopers, and you must take them out with your ground-based cannon. Use the scroll wheel to aim and the center button to fire. This game plays similarly to the arcade classic Missile Command.
- The included version of the card game Solitaire is a more relaxed, subdued game compared to the others included on the iPod. Use the scroll wheel and center button to select and pick up cards, and create numerically ordered stacks of cards that alternate between red and black. Solitaire doesn't have any preferences, so you'll have to stick to the standard "draw 3" mode, unlike many other solitaire games.
