- The Muskogee Crape Myrtle is a cross between the Japanese Crape Myrtle and the common Crape Myrtle. This species of trees was created in 1978 in the U.S. National Arboretum. This tree is found along the western portion of West Coast states as well as southwest, south-central and southeast U.S.
- The Muskogee produces clusters of light lavender flowers throughout the entire tree. The clusters generally range from 8 to 16 inches long and produce an abundance of flowers within each cluster. Its flowering period is up to 120 days a year.
- The Muskogee tree reaches 25 feet in height and 20 feet in diameter at full maturity. It is capable of growing up to 5 feet annually and is considered to be a fast-growing tree.
- Muskogee trees prefer full to partial sunshine. When planting, place in a hole twice the diameter of the root system and as deep as the root ball. Make sure the tree is straight and roots are not crushed.
- Muskogee trees range in price according to maturity and size. A general price for an 8-foot tall tree with a diameter of 3 feet is $120 to $140. A typical price for a tree in the 12-foot range with a diameter of 4 1/2 feet is $330 to $350.
