How to Space Semi-Dwarf Fruit Trees

    • 1). Look for a sunny planting site that has an above-head clearance of at least 15 to 20 feet. The location should also be away from the sides of buildings or walkways.

    • 2). Draw an "x" in the soil with spray chalk to indicate the location of the first semi-dwarf fruit tree.

    • 3). Place the end of a tape measure directly in the center of the "x" and stretch it outward to a minimum distance of 15 feet.

    • 4). Draw another "x" on the soil at the 15-foot location, which is where the next semi-dwarf fruit tree should be planted.

    • 5). Continuing making "x" marks at 15-foot intervals, which is the proper spacing distance for the fruit trees.
