- 1). Connect the iPod to the computer using the cable.
- 2). Launch the iTunes software. The software normally launches automatically when you connect the iPod to the computer. If it does not, double click the iTunes icon on your computer to launch it manually.
- 3). Sync the iPod. The syncing process should normally begin as soon as you connect your iPod. If it does not, you must start it manually.
- 4). Select your iPod in the list on the left, under the "Devices" heading.
- 5). Click the "Music" tab at the top of the window and check the "Sync Music" checkbox. Select "Entire music library" if you want to sync all your songs to the iPod; if you only want to sync some of them, select "Selected playlists, artists and genres." Use the menus that appear to select the music you want to sync to your iPod.
- 6). Click on the "File" menu at the very top and select "Sync iPod."
- 7). Wait for the iPod to finish syncing. There will be a progress bar displayed at the top of the iTunes window and your iPod will display a "Do not disconnect" message.
- 8). Disconnect your iPod. Press the "Eject" button found next to your iPod's name on the left of the iTunes window, under the "Devices" heading, and wait for the "Do not disconnect" message to disappear from your iPod's screen. Unplug the iPod.
