- 1). Turn on your cell phone. Make sure you have a good signal because you will have to download the program from the Windows Marketplace app store on your mobile device.
- 2). Navigate to Windows Marketplace. In the search bar, type "Office Mobile" and press "Enter." The marketplace will search for the latest compatible version of the program for your windows mobile smartphone.
- 3). Download the program. Select on the Office Mobile application that came up in the Windows Marketplace. Under the file you will see a button that says "Download." Select the "Download" button, and the program will download onto your smartphone. Depending on the kind of Windows smartphone you have, you may have to pay for the program. If you have never purchased a download from Windows Marketplace, you will have to input your information and credit or debit card information to complete the download.
- 4). Navigate to the Office Mobile icon in your Windows Mobile icon directory. Select the Icon and then select "Microsoft Word." You will now be able to open and edit Word documents stored on your smartphone and in email attachments.
