- Some of the most common types of rose mold include gray mold, black spot mold and powdery mildew. There are also less common fungal infections that include canker and rust.
- All of these types of rose mold can be incredibly destructive in a rose garden, killing any rose plant that becomes infected. The mold takes over the surface of the leaves of the rose plant, leaving them unable to photosynthesize.
- In order to avoid fungal infestation, keep your roses as dry as possible. Water the rose near the base to avoid wetting the leaves, and spray fungicides every two weeks.
- Many people believe that rose mold is curable, but this is not true. Once the mold infects a plant, part of the plant or the entire bush may die. Do your best to avoid fungal infections altogether.
- Rose molds can be found all across the world, but are especially common in damp climates. Roses thrive in warm, dry climates where they are watered regularly.
