- 1). Double-click the iTunes icon on your Windows PC's desktop to run iTunes. For Macintosh computers, open the Applications folder located in Finder and double-click the iTunes icon.
- 2). Plug the USB or FireWire cable into the bottom of your 4G iPod and insert the other end into your computer's FireWire or USB port.
- 3). Click the iPod tab under the Devices section of the iTunes sidebar and click the "Summary" tab in the main iTunes window.
- 4). Check the box next to "Automatically sync songs to my iPod." Click the "Apply" button.
- 5). Click the "Music" tab and check the box next to "Sync Music." Click the circle next to "Entire music library" or "Selected playlists, artists, and genres." If you select the latter, check the boxes next to desired playlists, artists and genres.
- 1). Open the iTunes program and plug the FireWire or USB cable into your iPod and your computer.
- 2). Click the iPod tab in the iTunes sidebar and click the "Summary" tab in the main iTunes window. Check the box next to "Manually manage my music." Click the "Apply" button.
- 3). Click the Music tab under the Library section in the iTunes sidebar, followed by dragging and dropping songs from your music library to the iPod tab in the sidebar.
- 4). Click the "Eject" button next to the iPod tab to safely disconnect.
